A good weekend's fundraising

for the ACE animal charity

Last weekend was a good one in terms of fundraising for the ACE Animal Charity which cares for in excess of 150 dogs at its kennels in La Cala de Mijas.

Firstly partygoers enjoyed the 60's 70's and 80's music played by DJ Laurie Scott at the ACE Disco Party in Calahonda. Just over 1,400 euros was raised and this will go a long way towards caring for the many abandoned dogs and pups. Then on Sunday, the La Cala Lions presented a cheque for 1,000 euros to ACE at their Christmas Fair held at the Tamisa Golf Hotel. ACE is very grateful for this donation which will buy an operating table for use at the kennels.

Most of the over 150 dogs and pups in residence at ACE plus the many that are out with foster mums have been rescued from the most appalling conditions throughout Andalucía and unless they are sick and beyond help they get the chance of a new life in a loving home. All are neutered, chipped and vaccinated before they leave. It's constant hard work but with the help of the dedicated volunteers, the ACE website, http://www.ace-charity.org/ and their collaborators in Holland, Belgium, Germany and Austria, the dogs are rehomed as quickly as possible.

With the winter almost upon us, ACE would welcome blankets and towels to keep the dogs and pups warm during the cold winter nights.
